The Pink City of Jaipur is an extremely popular tourist destination in the country and is counted among UNESCO’s World Heritage Sites. Jaipur has a long and interesting history and has numerous forts and historic sites throughout the region. It is home to a number of artisans and craftsmen and is famous for its silver, Kundan and meenakari, and laakh jewelry, gems, blue pottery, ivory and stone carvings, leather ware, and block printing, bandhani, kinari, zari and zardosi, and gotta patti work. Demand for these crafts has played its part in making Jaipur a major trade hub.

Some of the famous schools in the city are Maharani Gayatri Devi Girls’ School, Maharaja Sawai Man Singh Vidyalaya, Maheshwari Girls School, St Xavier’s, etc. Among the higher education institutions, a few notable ones include Maharani’s College, Jaipur National University, Manipal University Jaipur campus, NIMS University, etc, and a large percentage of students are from other cities and states of India.

Apart from these, there are also a few establishments in smaller towns around the city like Banasthali Vidyapeeth, Vanasthali, and NIIT University, Neemrana. And of course, there’s Kota, the hub of coaching centers for engineering and medical entrance tests, a few hours from Jaipur.
